These are the rules I will live by for the next four months.
-only eat produce grown from my garden
-barter for items I can’t grow with produce from my garden
-foraging is allowed
-allow our family one night out each fortnight to eat out,
or eat at friends.
Can we do it? Can I get my three young boys and lolly and chocolate loving husband to come along for the ride?
Let me introduce my family or as I like to call them my gaggle of boys!
Liam, 9 yrs Favourite Food- pizza, Nachos Least favourite food- courgette
Edwin, 6 yrs Favourite Food- Spaghetti Bolognase, salad filled rolls Least favourite food- pumpkin
Quinn, 4 yrs Favourite Food- Peanut butter and nutella sandwiches Least favourite food- onions, eggs

Is that the look Chris gave you when you told him he was living off the land for 4 months?!!!!I sense his take on 'foraging', and yours, may be quite different!
ReplyDeleteYes Countess, I fear that there may be a slight difference of interpretation. Time will tell. Watch this space.

I think its a great challenge, and I've seen your blog well into the event. I did one a few years back when everything on the table all day christmas day have to be grown here or bartered for. The biggest challenge was the ham but then I found a school teacher stuck for a baby sitter for the while of december so I minded her child at my place in return for a ham and some cream and sugar.
